Why They Chose Lapis Blue For Their Wedding

Inspired by the deep blue stone of antiquity, Lapis Blue is an intense blue color that can be traced back through the centuries. For a classic color combination, pair Lapis Blue dresses with rustic gold accessories and other bold jewel tones like magenta and emerald green. Lapis Blue is ideal for quirky weddings and unique wedding venues.

My mom's side of the family was originally from Egypt, and I've always been very keen to learn more about that culture and history. So when I got engaged, I knew that I wanted to incorporate some of those elements into the wedding. I knew that Lapis Blue is very culturally significant in Egyptian culture, so I went with that color for the bridesmaid dresses. The girls loved how stunning the color is!

- Evonne

A lot of people describe my style as being edgy. So when I got engaged, I knew that I wanted my bridesmaids to look really unique and standout from those other paper-cutter weddings you see nowadays. After browsing through countless colors, I came across Lapis Blue on Azazie and fell immediately in love. It was just so intense and it definitely had the vibrant and edgy feel that I was going for.

- Rigel

I'm working on a doctorate in ancient history, which is where my inspiration for Lapis Blue bridesmaid dresses came from. A lot of ancient cultures used Lapis Blue in art, jewelry, and even makeup. When it came to picking out the bridesmaid dresses after I got engaged, it actually occurred to me that Lapis Blue would make for very beautiful dresses! I couldn't believe that I found the exact shade I was looking for."

My grandmother and I were very close when I was growing up. Unfortunately, she passed away a few years ago. I remember as a little girl, she had this gorgeous Lapis Blue mosaic jewelry box, which I loved. After she died, she left that to me. I wanted to honor my grandmother for my wedding and thought that it would be amazing for the bridesmaids to wear Lapis Blue bridesmaid dresses.
