I grew up in Seattle, which is sometimes called the Emerald City. I love my hometown because the lush vegetation and abundant rain. After I got engaged to my fiancé now husband, I moved across the country to the east coast but Seattle still holds a very special place in my heart. I wanted to show that and asked my bridesmaids if they would wear Emerald Green bridesmaid dresses. Of course they said yes!

My favorite book and movie growing up was the Wizard of Oz. I used to watch the movie almost everyday and I knew every song by heart. I incorporated elements of the movie into the wedding by having straw elements in the table setting that were spray painted gold and wore red glitter pumps. In honor of the Emerald City in the story, I had my bridesmaids wear Emerald Green dresses. I was just perfect.

My husband is from Thailand and when we were dating, I went with him to visit his family back in Bangkok. In Bangkok, there's a chapel called the Chapel of the Emerald Buddha, which is on the grounds of the Grand Palace in Bangkok. I was so struck by this palace that I just knew I had to incorporate Emerald Green into the wedding somehow, and it ended up being for the bridesmaid dresses. It was a beautiful memory shared by my future husband.

When I got engaged, my mother gave me this stunning vintage emerald ring from the 1920s. It was passed down to her from my grandmother. It's a square cut stone set in a gold band with diamond accents on the side. It's just stunning and my most valued possession, apart from my engagement ring of course. When it came time to choose the bridesmaid dresses, I looked down at my hands and suggested Emerald Green, which the girls loved.
