After graduating from Otis College of Art and Design, she went on to design women&#8217;s contemporary wear, bridal, and special occasions. While she specializes in leading the design direction for all of Azazie&#8217;s categories, she remains steadfast in her commitment to empowering women. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;I am inspired to design for women of all sizes. I encourage our designers to create modern yet elegant silhouettes with flattering details. As a female designer I feel it is important to celebrate women and what better way than to be able to design for their special day&#8221;.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Q: What led you to become a designer for Azazie?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A: One of my first jobs while in college was working in a bridal shop as a Bridal Stylist. I loved helping people find their dream wedding dresses and hearing customers&#8217; feedback on what types of dresses they wish they could find. My time spent working as a bridal consultant exposed me to the different techniques and details that go into making a gown. I&#8217;d flip the dresses inside out and observe the workmanship. I was hired as a sales associate, but during slow days I&#8217;d sneak off to the alterations room and beg the head seamstress to teach me new things. The job was commission based so I quickly learned how to find the right dress for each bride&#8217;s unique aesthetic and silhouette. It is so rewarding to see someone&#8217;s face light up over a gown you picked out for them. While I was studying fashion design at FIDM, I interned for a LA based designer where I worked on red carpet gowns and music video outfits. My first job after graduating was at a high-end luxury bridal boutique where I fell in love with wedding dresses. I worked as a Seamstress Assistant where I was mentored by some of the best couture seamstresses in the world.
